🏘️ Communities

Join communities, organize tournaments, and connect with fellow sports enthusiasts

Communities Overview

Communities are private spaces for schools, colleges, corporates, apartment groups, and alumni groups. They allow you to organize and manage sports tournaments, enable live scoring, and bring your community together through sports.

Joining Communities

Method 1: Join by Code

  1. Open the Communities screen from the bottom navigation
  2. Enter the community join code in the input field
  3. Tap "Join" to become a member
  4. You'll be redirected to the community detail page

Method 2: Scan QR Code

  1. Ask an admin to share the community QR code
  2. Scan the QR code with your phone camera
  3. The app will automatically open and join the community

Method 3: Join via Invitation Link

  1. Click on a community invitation link shared with you
  2. If you have the app installed, it will open directly
  3. If not, you'll be redirected to download the app
  4. After installing, the link will automatically join you to the community

💡 Tip: After joining a community, you'll see a reminder about linking your player profile to track your career statistics. You can dismiss this reminder, but linking your profile is recommended to see your stats across all matches.

Creating Communities

  1. Go to the Communities screen
  2. Tap the "+" button or "Create Community" option
  3. Fill in the community details:
    • Community name
    • Description (optional)
    • Organizer type (School, College, Sports Club, Turf, Association, Independent Organizer, etc.)
  4. Upload a community logo (optional, recommended size: 512x512px)
  5. Tap "Create" to create your community
  6. You'll automatically become an admin of the community

⚠️ Note: Community creation may require approval from SportEve administrators. You'll be notified once your community is approved.

Community Detail Screen

The Community Detail screen has five main tabs:

1. Home Tab

View the community feed with posts, updates, and announcements. Create new posts, like, comment, and share content.

2. Tournaments Tab

View all tournaments in the community. Filter by status (Live, Upcoming, Completed). Create new tournaments and manage existing ones.

3. Play Sessions Tab

Create and manage casual play sessions outside tournaments. Track multiple matches, record results, and calculate calories burned.

4. Teams Tab

View all teams in the community. Manage team squads, add players, and set team captains. Link your player profile to track stats.

5. Members Tab

View all community members organized by role (Admins, Moderators, Scorers, Members). View member profiles and manage roles (admin only).

Community Feed

Creating Posts

  1. Go to the Home tab in a community
  2. Tap the "+" button or "Create Post" option
  3. Enter a title and description
  4. Add an image (optional)
  5. Tap "Post" to share with the community

AI Match Summary

After a match is completed, admins can generate an AI-powered match summary:

  1. Go to the completed match summary page
  2. Tap the "AI Summary" button (admin only)
  3. Wait for the AI to generate a summary (takes a few seconds)
  4. The summary will automatically open the post creation form
  5. Review and edit the title and description if needed
  6. Add an image and post to the community feed

Interacting with Posts

  • Like: Tap the heart icon to like a post
  • Comment: Tap the comment icon to view and add comments
  • Share: Tap the share icon to share the post (creates a screenshot image)
  • View Full Post: Tap on a post card to see the full content in a bottom sheet

Community Teams

Viewing Teams

Go to the Teams tab to see all teams in the community. Each team card shows the team name, player count, and team logo.

Team Squad Management

  1. Tap on a team to view its squad
  2. View all players in the team
  3. Admins can add new players or edit existing ones
  4. Set a team captain by tapping on a player and selecting "Set as Captain"
  5. The captain will be marked with "(c)" in the team view and scorecards

Linking Your Player Profile

To track your career statistics across all matches, you need to link your SportEve account to your player profile:

  1. Go to the Teams tab in a community
  2. Find your player profile in a team squad
  3. Tap on your player profile
  4. Tap "Link Account" or use a linking code if provided
  5. Once linked, your stats will appear in the Profile → Stats tab

✅ Benefit: Once linked, you can view your unified statistics across all communities, tournaments, and matches in one place.

Play Sessions

Play Sessions allow you to organize casual matches and practice sessions outside of formal tournaments. Perfect for friendly matches, practice games, or regular play sessions.

Creating a Play Session

  1. Go to the Play Sessions tab in a community
  2. Tap the "+" button to create a new session
  3. Enter session details:
    • Session name
    • Sport type
    • Date and time
    • Venue/location (optional)
    • Participants
  4. Tap "Create" to create the session

Managing Matches in a Session

  1. Open a play session
  2. Go to the "Matches" tab
  3. Tap "Start Match" to create a new match
  4. Select players and match format
  5. Record the match results
  6. View match summary with calories burned

Calories Tracking

Play Sessions automatically calculate calories burned based on:

  • Sport type
  • Match duration
  • Match format

You can view calories burned in the match summary. If you enter custom start and end times, you can tap "Recalculate Calories" to update the calculation.

Quick Access

Star a play session to add it to the Quick Access card on the News page for easy access. Tap the star icon on the play session detail page.

QR Code for Joining

Community admins can generate and download QR codes to make it easy for people to join the community, especially useful during tournaments and events.

Downloading QR Code

  1. Go to a community detail page
  2. Tap the share icon in the top right
  3. Tap "Download QR Code"
  4. A QR code dialog will appear showing the code
  5. Tap "Download" to save the QR code as an image
  6. The image includes the community name and SportEve logo
  7. You can print and display the QR code at venues

💡 Use Case: Print the QR code and paste it around tournament venues. Participants can scan it with their phone camera to instantly join the community and start following live matches.

Community Members

The Members tab shows all community members organized by their roles:

  • 👑 Admins: Full control over community settings, tournaments, and members
  • 🛡️ Moderators: Can manage tournaments and content
  • 📊 Scorers: Can score matches
  • 👥 Members: Regular members who can participate in tournaments

Viewing Member Profiles

  1. Tap on any member in the Members tab
  2. View their profile information
  3. See their role and join date
  4. Admins can change member roles or remove members
